Thanh Phan
Managing Lawyer
Thanh Phan is the founder of Elite Law Corporation. His practice focuses on business immigration, corporate, and commercial law. Prior to his practice in BC, Thanh was a lawyer at a global law firm in Toronto where he supported multinational corporate clients in a wide variety of sectors, including information technology, management consulting, engineering, and food and agriculture.
Thanh assists clients with all corporate immigration requirements in Canada, including applications related to free trade agreements of which Canada is a signatory, intra-company transfers, Labour Market Impact Assessments, as well as compliance and inadmissibility issues. He also has profound expertise in starting up innovative businesses in Canada, focusing on high-tech projects.
Thanh obtained a PhD degree in law from the University of Victoria. He teaches as an adjunct professor in Immigration and Citizenship Law at Queen’s University and the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law. He also taught Canadian Public and Constitutional Law at Osgoode Hall Law School. He worked for the Government of Vietnam for more than 10 years as a legal counsel and as a delegate, negotiating free trade agreements between Vietnam, the EU and the Eurasian Customs Union.
Thanh is an active member of Canadian Lawyers Association and Canadian Bar Association. He often provides pro bono services to the Vietnamese community in Canada and the Embassy of Vietnam to Canada.
